Skyscanner Mobile: Discovery Work

As a successful transactional tool for online travel booking, Skyscanner engaged the team at Fantasy Interactive to explore a more flexible and inspirational booking experience that’s optimized for mobile.

After auditing the existing site and reviewing relevant research documents, the team began by outlining the key pages and functionalities of the proposed site experience.

We explored two key experiences and use cases for flight search. The first was a specific, functional search where the traveler has a specific destination and travel dates in mind. To enhance the search process, we explored features such as predictive typing, contextual fare comparison and pricing information, and more.

The second use case we explored was an exploratory flight search through content discovery or free form text entry where the traveler does not have a specific destination in mind.

Aside from destination suggestions by interests and themes, we explored a concept where customers could input and tweak their desired trip criteria to receive destination suggestions in an immersive map experience.

In the scenario where the traveler performs an exploratory flight search through free form text entry, they may enter their trip criteria in simple strings of text in order to receive destination suggestions.
